The Permalinks Limited is a specialised digital agency based in New Zealand, working with a select group of global clients across web, eCommerce, and digital growth. We are design-driven, detail-focused, and obsessed with modern UI/UX standards that actually convert.

We are looking for a highly experienced UI/UX Designer who genuinely knows their craft. This is not a junior or mid-level role.

About the Role

You will lead UI/UX design for websites and eCommerce platforms, owning the full design process from concept to final execution. You should have a strong eye for modern design, user flows, conversion optimisation, and real-world usability.

This role suits someone who enjoys a fresh, fast-moving environment, works independently, and takes pride in high-quality design work.

Key Responsibilities

• • Lead UI/UX design for websites and eCommerce platforms

• • Create wireframes, user flows, high-fidelity UI designs, and interactive prototypes

• • Design conversion-focused layouts, product pages, and user journeys

• • Produce banners, creatives, and supporting UI assets where required

• • Collaborate closely with developers and internal teams to ensure design feasibility

• • Maintain and evolve design systems for consistency and scalability

• • Review and improve existing designs based on UX best practices and performance

• • Present and explain design decisions clearly to internal teams and clients

• • Mentor junior designers when required

Mandatory Requirements (Read Carefully)

• • Minimum 5 years of proven UI/UX design experience

• • Strong experience in website and eCommerce design

• • Portfolio URL is mandatory

    • • Must include real projects
    • • Must include working / live links

• • Excellent knowledge of modern UI/UX principles and trends

• • Strong experience with Figma (or equivalent tools)

• • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

• • Strong attention to detail and high design standards

Technical Skills

• • Experience with Shopify / WooCommerce / eCommerce platforms is a strong advantage
